Men's Hockey Secures Overtime Win Against Norwich, 3-2

NORTHFIELD, VT – Nazareth opened the new year with a dramatic 3-2 overtime win over Norwich on Friday night. Goals were scored by Nate Mann, Mathieu Fehr, and Charles Ross, with Ross delivering the game winner just 26 seconds into overtime. The Golden Flyers improve to 8-4-1 on the season.
 
How It Happened:
  • With 16:16 gone in the first period, Nate Mann buried a power‑play goal to give Nazareth a 1-0 lead. Blake Frost and Antoine Lucier picked up the assists.
  • A strong first period from the Golden Flyers gave them a large lead in shots on goal, leading 22-8. 
  • Norwich answered late in the second period, tying the game 1-1 with a power play tally. 
  • The second period was a different story, as this time Norwich led in shots, 22-5. 
  • At 18:56 of the third, Mathieu Fehr scored what looked to be the game winning goal to put Nazareth in front 2-1. The goal was assisted by Gabriel Laflamme and Daisuke Egusa.
  • However, just 40 seconds later, Norwich would score another powerplay goal to tie the game at 2-2.
  • The game would head to overtime where just 26 seconds in, Charles Ross scored the game winning goal to secure the 3-2 victory. The only assist was awarded to goaltender Paul Dalessio.
  • The final shot on goal totals were 40-35 in favor of the Golden Flyers.

  • Charles Ross scored his third goal of the season, setting a new career high
  • Mathieu Fehr recorded his third goal of the year
  • Nate Mann scored his fourth of the season
  • Goaltender Paul Dalessio made 33 saves on 35 shots to earn the win
