WEBSTER, NY – Junior
Emily LeFrois-Heath won the 200-yard IM by over two seconds to highlight the opening day of the Empire 8 Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday. Lefrois-Heath swam a personal best time of 2:07.17 to win the race. Nazareth is currently in second place out of five teams with the team scores as follows:

Nazareth – 122
SUNY Brockport – 121
Hartwick – 120
Alfred - 63
Caroline Coleman swam to a personal best time of 5:12.39 to earn third place in the 500-yard IM and earn 16 points for the Golden Flyers.
Maura Miller took 14
th overall after swimming in the B final (5:37.84).
Also in the final for the 200-yard IM was
Peyton Buell who clocked a 2:14.97 to take seventh.
Lauren Sanford improved upon her prelim time of 2:27.37 to swim 2:25.04 and take 14
th.
Kate Millson was 15
th place in 2:25.20.
Grace Kanaley swam a personal best of 24.32 as the lone Golden Flyer in the A final of the 50-yard freestyle which earned her fifth place. Sophomore
Ellen Burroughs was 12
th (25.43),
Alexis Eisler (25.63) was 15
th and
Amy Barry (25.74) was 16
th.
In the 400-yard IM Relay Kanaley, Buell, LeFrois-Heath, and Coleman swam to a second place finish in a time of 3:59.00.
