Cameron Bauer's late second-period tally, Nazareth dropped a 5-1 decision Friday evening.
How It Happened:
- Just nine seconds into the game, Chatham would score on a 2-on-1 to take the lead.
- The first period would see a high shot total, as Chatham led 18-14. However, that early goal would stand alone as Chatham took a 1-0 lead into the locker room.
- Midway through the second, the Golden Flyers took two penalties just four minutes apart. After a strong kill on the first, Chatham converted on the second powerplay, extending their lead to 2-0 just past the halfway mark.
- Just four minutes later, the Golden Flyers surrendered another 2-on-1, and Chatham converted again to push the lead to 3-0.
- With two minutes left in the second period, the Golden Flyers went to work on the power play. Cameron Bauer ripped a slapshot from the top of the left circle to cut the Chatham lead to 3-1. Jason Shafer picked up the assist.
- Chatham led in the shot department 34-22 through two periods.
- The 3rd period was more of the same for Chatham, as they would score two more goals to make it a 5-1 lead.
- The shots would finish 50-39 in favor of Chatham
