OSWEGO, N.Y. (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Volleyball (0-16, 0-2) dropped a nonconference match at Oswego State (14-3, 2-0), 3-0, Tuesday night inside Ziel Gymnasium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego State jumped out to an early 12-3 lead in first set before Nazareth recorded five straight points to make it 12-7. The Golden Flyers chipped away at the Lakers advantage, coming within three at 21-17 before Oswego State closed out the frame 25-20.
- Nazareth and Oswego traded points to start the second set until the Golden Flyers used a 5-0 run to gain a 17-16 edge. The Lakers took back the lead with eight of the next 10 points to go up 24-19 before ending the stanza at 25-20.
- Both opponents went back and forth to begin the final set before Oswego State registered five straight points to lead 11-8. The Golden Flyers came back to tie the contest at 15 and then retake control of the frame at 21-19. The Lakers held Nazareth to just two of the next eight points to finalize a 25-23 set victory.
MATCH NOTES
- Leah Fusilli posted her first double-double this fall with 12 kills and a season-high 12 digs vs. Oswego State, her third straight match with double-digit kills. She tacked on two service aces and one block for a team-best 14.5 points.
- Sarah Harvey notched a career-best 11 kills at a .259 clip against the Lakers, her first performance in double figures this season.
- Hailey Trank posted her first career double-double with a personal-best 23 assists and 11 digs.
- Jenna Mattison tallied a team-high 14 digs vs. Oswego State, her fifth double-digit digs performance this season.
