BROCKPORT, NY - The Nazareth women's volleyball team (0-15, 0-1 Empire 8) battled through four competitive sets but ultimately fell to Brockport (9-7), 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 27-25), Saturday afternoon in non-conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Golden Flyers fought hard throughout a tightly contested match that featured long rallies and momentum swings on both sides.
Brockport took the opening set 25-19 behind a late surge, but Nazareth answered with a strong play in the second. The Golden Flyers held off a late Brockport push to even the match, 25-23, thanks to several key kills from senior Leah Fusilli and sophomore Sarah Harvey.
The third set remained close until Brockport pulled away late, 25-21. In the fourth, Nazareth battled back from multiple match points, tying the score at 25-25 before Brockport secured the final two points to clinch the win, 27-25.
GAME NOTES:

Fusilli led Nazareth with 14 kills and added eight digs, marking her third double-digit performance of the season.

Harvey contributed 15 kills and five digs, while sophomore Alana Lucey added five kills and four digs.

Defensively, Nazareth recorded 69 digs and 13.0 total blocks, including nine solo.

The Golden Flyers totaled 30 kills, 8 aces, and hit .007 for the match.
