Women’s Volleyball Downed by Hartwick, 3-0

ONEONTA, N.Y. (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Women's Volleyball (0-18, 0-4) fell to Hartwick (12-10, 4-1), 3-0, Saturday afternoon inside Lambros Arena. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Hartwick jumped out to an early 13-6 lead in the first set before Nazareth came back to level the frame at 17. Both teams traded points until the Hawks used a 5-1 run to take the first set 25-20. 
  • Nazareth and Hartwick stayed within three scores of each other for the majority of the second set until the Hawks pulled away with nine straight points to lead 24-16. The Golden Flyers tacked on one more point before Hartwick won the set 25-17.
  • Nazareth and Hartwick went back and forth to start the third set before the Hawks recorded a 7-0 run to go up 14-8. Hartwick continued to add to its advantage, leading 24-17 when the Golden Flyers saved four match points to make it 24-17. A Hawk kill then sealed the set for Hartwick 25-17. 
MATCH NOTES 
  • Leah Fusilli matched her season-high for the third time this fall with 13 kills against Hartwick, her fifth double-digit performance this season. 
  • Hailey Trank led the Golden Flyers with 18 assists vs. Hartwick, her second contest with double-digit helpers this fall. She added seven digs, two blocks and two kills. 
  • Jenna Mattison tallied a team-best nine digs and two service aces against the Hawks.
