ROCHESTER, NY – Nazareth fell to University of Rochester in three sets (25-22, 25-16, 25-8) at home this evening.

The Golden Flyers are now 3-7 in non-conference competition, and still have yet to play a conference game.

The first set had a lot of back and forth action, with each team going on multiple high-scoring runs. Unfortunately, when Nazareth was up 22-18, the Yellowjackets went on one of those runs, earning seven consecutive points to end the set at a score of 25-22.

Nazareth opened the second set with a bang, scoring five points with the first server of the set. Up 11-6, the Golden Flyers allowed Rochester to go on another run, this time scoring nine consecutive points. Nazareth was not able to come back from the deficit, and the set ended with a score of 25-16.

In the final set, the Yellowjackets jumped out to an early lead that Nazareth was unable to recover from. The final set concluded at a score of 25-8.

Ruth Jackson led the offense with seven kills, along with
Rylie Loomis and
Leah Fusilli, who posted six and five kills respectfully. Fusilli also had 11 digs on the defensive end.
Ella Kules once again racked up a few assists, finishing the game with 18, and also added eight digs to the mix.

The Golden Flyers will be back at home on September 24
th at 6 p.m. to host the RIT Tigers.
