ELMIRA, NY – Sophomore Vincent Falgiatano kept his hot streak going as he placed first for the second tournament in a row after shooting a +5 to lead the Nazareth University Men's Golf team at the Elmira College Invitational Tuesday at the Elmira Country Club.
Falgiatano finished with a pair of birdies on the back nine to take a two-stroke victory over Ryan Arp from Russell Sage. The Nazareth sophomore shot 39 on the front and came back in 38 on the back nine.
Russell Sage (+39) won the team scoring with SUNY Oswego (+46) in second place, 11 shot ahead of Nazareth (+57) in third. Elmira (+69) was fourth followed by Keuka (+71), SUNY Canton (+73) and Hobart (+82).
Falgiatano was the top Nazareth scorer with freshman Lincoln Crosby (+12) taking 10th, senior Owen White (+19) in 23rd position, senior Thomas McIntosh (+21) in 26th and junior Colin Rider (+21). Senior Jake Page (+58) was 40th.
Nazareth will wrap up the season Saturday and Sunday at the Oswego Invitational.
