ROCHESTER, NY – The Nazareth men's lacrosse team struggled to find its footing on Friday night, falling 12-4 to St. John Fisher in the Battle of the Beaks at Golden Flyer Stadium. It was the Golden Flyers first conference loss of the season.
Nazareth is now 8-5 overall and 2-1 in Empire 8 play, while Fisher moves to 7-6 and 3-0 in conference play.
St. John Fisher led 3-2 after one quarter of play. The first quarter goals for Nazareth were from
Quinn McKercher and
Quinn Conroy.
It was downhill from there for Nazareth as Fisher scored seven goals in the second quarter, while Nazareth was held scoreless. It was 10-2 at the half.
Nazareth's defense stood tall in the second half, only allowing two goals, one in each, quarter, but the offense never really got things going. The hosts were hindered by losing 14-of-18 faceoffs in the game. Nazareth also had 27 turnovers in the game.

McLean Ralston made 13 saves between the pipes.
Cole Slimak had three caused turnovers.
Nazareth returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Oswego at 3 p.m.
