ALLENTOWN, PA – The Nazareth women's lacrosse squad faced a tough opponent on Wednesday, falling 17-7 at Muhlenberg College in non-conference action.
Nazareth drops to 3-5 with the loss and Muhlenberg remains unbeaten at 7-0. Muhlenberg is off to the best start in program history.
Sophia Scialdone tied the score at 1 nearly five minutes into the game. The Mules scored the next five goals in the first quarter before Scialdone stopped the run to end the quarter. It was 6-2 after 15 minutes.
Nazareth got just one goal in the second quarter from
Julia Dietz and the halftime margin was 9-3.
The Mules led by at least six the rest of the way.
Kate Metzler had two scores, while
Maggie Vay and
Makenna Misiurewicz each added one tally.
Allie Klestinec made 12 saves.
Nazareth will have a week off before hosting Clarkson at 4 p.m. next Wednesday.
