Nazareth College Athletics

Inclusive Childhood Education major and Gifted and Talented Education concentration ... daughter of John and Colleen Vay, Rochester, N.Y... graduated from Nazareth in 2023 as magna cum laude and received the Guild Scholarship for graduate students studying special education at Nazareth … returning for her fifth season after starting all 18 games as a senior … finished tied for second with 28 goals and fourth on the team with 34 points (28 goals, 6 assists) … also had 15 draw controls … her career scoring stands at 52 goals and 20 assists for 72 points in 45 games … scored four goals in a game three times against Medaille, Keuka and Hartwick … also scored three times against Geneseo and Utica … named to the IWLCA All-Academic honors (3.50 gpa or higher) … was an Empire 8 President’s List honoree (3.75 gpa or higher).

2022: was a team captain for the Golden Flyers … she started all 18 games in 2022 and finished tied for third on the team with 23 goals and was fourth on the squad with 35 points … recorded a season-high five goals in a game twice with five against Oswego and another five-goal game against Harwtick … earned IWLCA All-Academic honors (3.50 gpa or higher) and was an Empire 8 President’s List honoree (3.75 gpa or higher) for the third consecutive year.

2021: Vay played in five games for the Golden Flyers in 2021 and had one goal and two assists... had one goal and one assist in a win at Keuka on 3/31/21... represented the Golden Flyers in the fall of 2021 on the Empire 8 Presidents' List for student-athletes with GPAs of 3.75 or better.

2020: Vay competed in four games for the Golden Flyers in 2020 and contributed seven draw controls... represented the Golden Flyers in the fall on the Empire 8 Presidents' List for student-athletes with GPAs of 3.75 or better.

Scholastic: a graduate of Irondequoit High School, Vay played volleyball, basketball and lacrosse there... served as team captain of volleyball and basketball teams and helped volleyball team to three league titles and two Section Five championships... named New 10 NBC's Scholar-Athlete of the week in April 2019... recipient of WITA Scholarship for Excellence in Education and Nazareth Presidential Scholarship.
