WINGATE, NC – Nazareth used a seven-goal spurt in the second quarter to help earn a 16-9 victory on Saturday over Ohio Northern University.
Kyle Rosenberger led all scorers with five points on three goals and two assists.
After the contest, both Nazareth and Ohio Northern sit with identical 5-3 records.
Leading 5-4 in the second quarter, Nazareth rattled off four-straight goals to gain momentum, beginning with
Matthew Farrington on the man-up from
Quinn Conroy. Rosenberger scored from
Ben Chaddock, followed by
Anthony Menickelli netting his first collegiate goal.
Chaddock found
Luke Suchyna to close the run at 6:03.
Following two goals from Ohio Northern, the Golden Flyers responded nicely before the half with goals from
Owen Riley and
Quinn McKercher. McKercher finished with three goals and one assist on the day. It was 11-6 at the break.
Nazareth led by six or more the rest of the game.
Farrington was good for two goals and two assists, while
Louis Cogliandro added two goals and one assist.
Cole Doldo finished 7-for-13 at the face-off x.
Nazareth was 3-for-6 on the extra man.
McLean Ralston made nine saves for his fifth win of the season.
Nazareth will square off against Western New England on Tuesday at 12 pm, back at Wingate University.
