ROCHESTER, NY - #3 Southern Virginia proved its worthiness of a high national ranking on Thursday night, downing #13 Nazareth in three sets, 25-16, 25-16, 25-14. The Knights are 15-0 and have not dropped a set all season.
Nazareth drops to 12-4 on the year. The Golden Flyers will turn around and host #9 Vassar on Friday at 7 p.m. in its second UVC match of the season.

The Knights came out swinging in the opening set, hitting .476 with 12 kills on 21 attempts and two errors. Nazareth had seven kills in the opening set, including three from
Alex Bertino. He led the Golden Flyers with five kills.

It was much of the same in the second set with the Knights putting down a game-high 17 kills.Â

In the third Nazareth trailed 11-9 before Southern Virginia took control.Â

Tristan Henderson had four kills.
