GENESEO, NY –
Julia Dietz and
Kate Metzler each scored a goal and added two assists and the Nazareth women's lacrosse team fell 20-6 to Geneseo on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore
Allie Klestinec played the first three quarters, making 14 saves and allowing 15 goals.
Tori Henchen played the entire fourth quarter and allowed five goals.
Dietz got the Golden Flyers on the board first on an assist from
Sophia Scialdone. The Knights responded with the next three goals before Dietz found Metzler for the tally, making it 3-2.
Nazareth did not score again until the third quarter and Geneseo ripped off seven more goals to take a 10-2 lead into halftime.
With the score at 12-2, Dietz eventually broke the nearly 20-minute scoring drought. Geneseo, however, scored the next six goals to make it 18-3 with eight minutes to play.
Nazareth scored three of the last five goals of the game from Scaldone, Metzler and
Maggie Vay.
The Golden Flyers will host their home-opener on Saturday against RIT at 12 p.m.
