WEBSTER, NY – Senior
Ryan Hough set another meet record on Saturday, clocking a 45.36 in the 100-yard freestyle as Nazareth closed out the 2024 Allegheny Empire Swimming and Diving Championships. The Golden Flyers finished in sixth place with 565 points.
Leading the way was Hartwick with 988 points, followed by Penn State Behrend (977.50), Alfred (907), Alfred State (898), Penn State Altoona (566.50), Nazareth (565), Pitt-Bradford (326) and Wells (5).
Hough won the 100-yard freestyle by over one second.
William Danaher was in the "B" final and clocked a 49.51 for 14
th place.
For the 2024 meet, Hough won the 50 freestyle in a meet record of 20.71. He won the 200-yard free in school record of 142.65 and won the 100-yard freestyle in a meet record of 45.36.
In other action,
Kai D'Alessandro raced to a seventh place finish in the 1650 freestyle, finishing in 17:18.85 for seventh place. Freshman
Gianluca Antonini was 11
th in 17:49.58, while
Cameron Fairley was 12
th in 17:49.58.
Sam Romanosky was eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke in a personal best time of 2:15.65. Carol Parsons was 14
th (2:16.42).
The "B" final for the 200-yard backstroke was headlined by senior
Aidan Quinn (2:07.60 – 14
th place).
Jack Bordeau (2:21.61 – 18
th place), Andrew Zimmerman (2:30.39 – 19
th place), and
Cameron Matousek (2:32.50 – 20
th place) each picked up some points.
Adam DelGrand (2:06.25) and
Jackson Gerbes (2:12.10) were 12
th and 16
th, respectively in the 200-yard butterfly.
