Julie Filipski,
Ellen Burroughs,
Allison Putnam and
Caroline Coleman cruised to over a 3 second win in the 800-yard freestyle relay on Wednesday night to close out day one of the Allegheny Empire Swimming and Diving Championships at Webster Aquatics Center. The Golden Flyers are currently in third place out of eight teams with 116 points. Hartwick leads the way with 124 points and Alfred State with 122 points.
Day two will continue Thursday at 10 a.m.

Filipiski got the Golden Flyers in front after the opening leg at 1:58.00 and was followed up by Putnam (1:59.62), and Burroughs (1:57.36). Coleman closed out the win with leg of 1:57.36.
In the other race of the day, Nazareth's 200-medley relay of
Isabella Jaskowski,
Amelia Richards,
Ashleigh Parsons, and
Amy Barry swam to a fifth place finish in 1:53.56.
