ROCHESTER, NY – Freshman Sarina McDowell was the leading scorer for the Nazareth University Women's Basketball team last week and has earned the Empire 8 weekly award as the co-Rookie of the Week.

McDowell led Nazareth in the two games last week with a scoring average of 18.5 points per game. She scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds in the win over Keuka and then added 18 points and seven rebounds at Houghton Saturday. She missed just three shots in the two games as she finished 15-for-18 (.833) from the field and was 7-for-10 from the free throw line.

Nazareth is in the hunt for the Empire 8 regular season title as the season ends Saturday when the Golden Flyers travel to St. John Fisher for the season finale.
