ROCHESTER, NY (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Women's Basketball earned multiple U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Rochester Area Division III Team selections, the organization announced Tuesday morning.
Molly Benetti took home Player of the Year honors while Head Coach
Kelly Dunne-Romig grabbed the Coach of the Year distinction. Along with Benetti,
Kiara Anglin and
Katie MacLachlan were named to the First-Team.
The 2025-26 Empire 8 Coach of the Year, Dunne‑Romig guided the Golden Flyers to their second regular-season title and No. 1 overall seed in three seasons, repeating the achievement that earned them Co‑Coaching Staff of the Year in 2023-24. Nazareth finished the regular season with a dominant 15-1 conference record and a program-best 14 game win-streak.
A three-time Empire 8 All-Conference selection, Benetti notched her best offensive season yet, averaging 14.2 points per game, ranking seventh in the conference on 46 percent shooting. She also added a career high 2.9 assists per game for ninth overall and posted an impressive assist to turnover ratio of 1.3. Defensively, she was a factor on the glass, picking up 6.1 rebounds per game and recording 2.3 blocks per game for second in the Empire 8. Benetti also scored a career-high 27 point performance vs Rensselaer.
The back-to-back Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year, Anglin recorded multiple career highs this season, averaging 3.0 steals and 7.4 rebounds per game for second and tenth in the conference, respectively. Offensively, she delivered the best season of her career, averaging 9.9 points and 2.1 assists per game while finishing 13th in the conference in blocks. Anglin led the Golden Flyers in minutes as well, averaging 30.5 minutes per game.
Another three-time Empire 8 All-Conference selection, MacLachlan averaged 13.0 points per game, ranking 11th in the Empire 8 and established herself as one of the league's top shooters. She also picked up a team-best 3.4 assists per game for fifth in the conference. Defensively, MacLachlan remained a steady presence, averaging 0.5 blocks and 1.9 steals per game.
