MIDDLETON, CT – Graduate student
McKinley Hoff set the record for wins by a goaltender (51) after shutting out Wesleyan 3-0 on Saturday afternoon for the 15
th-ranked Nazareth women's hockey team. Hoff surpassed the previous record held by Adrianna Brehm who compiled 50 wins from 2018-2022. Hoff also extended her school record of shutouts to 26 after making 20 saves in the win.
Nazareth completed the weekend sweep of NESCAC schools after downing Trinity (CT) on Friday night 2-1.
The Golden Flyers are now 7-2 overall, while Wesleyan falls to 2-6.
Nazareth got on the board with a power play goal just over six minutes in.
Ella Cedrone wristed a shot from the point with traffic in front that made its way into the back of the net.
Ivey Lyden and
Brooke Terry picked assists on the play.
Sofia Pittis netted her second goal of the weekend five minutes into the second on a short-side shot with assists to
Amy Laskowski and
Nikki Sharp.
The score remained 2-0 after two.
Nazareth added one more goal in the third, this time it was from the stick of Laskowksi. Pittis picked up and assist, along with
Allie Zack.
The Golden Flyers will be off until the new year when they will take on Plattsburgh on January 5 at the Norwich Tournament.
