NORTHFIELD, VT – For the first time this season, the 12-ranked Nazareth women's hockey team was held off the scoreboard as the Golden Flyers fell 2-0 to #7 Plattsburgh at the Norwich Annual East-West Classic. It was the first time that Nazareth had not scored a goal since the 2023-24 season, when that same Plattsburgh squad blanked the Golden Flyers 1-0 in overtime on December 10, 2023.
With the loss, Nazareth falls to 7-3, while Plattsburgh moves to 7-2.
Nazareth will square off against #3 Amherst on Monday in the consolation contest. Host Norwich downed Amherst 3-1 in the first game of the day and will take on Plattsburgh in the title game.
Plattsburgh opened the scoring in the first period, converting on the power play with 16:01 on the clock. The Cardinals were 1-for-4 with the extra skater for the day.
The score moved to 2-0 near the midway point of the second period and would stay that way the rest of the game.
Final shots for the game were 51-29 in favor of Plattsburgh.

McKinley Hoff made 26 saves in the loss.

Amy Laskowski led Nazareth with five shots apiece.
Nazareth finished 0-for-2 on the power play.
