Madalyn Kelly scored a career-high 17 points as Nazareth routed Hilbert 83-32 Wednesday in the Golden Flyers opening game. Freshman
Payton Littlefield had strong start to her career, notching 16 points.
Nazareth moves to 1-0 on the year, while Hilbert drops to 0-2.
Nazareth started red-hot from the field, opening the first 10 minutes by going 9-for-17 to lead 23-2 after the opening quarter.
Littlefield was 3-for-3 from 3-point land in the opening half to lead Nazareth with 11 points. Nazareth led 44-11 at the break.
The Golden Flyers wer able to get 11 players into the opening game and had 10 different scorers.
Sarina McDowell and
Kiara Anglin each had 10 points. Anglin added seven rebounds and a game-high five steals.
Katie MacLachlan had seven points, four steals, and three assists.
Morgan Caraballo tied a career-high with eight points.
Nazareth returns to action on Saturday, hosting Ohio Wesleyan at 6 p.m.
