ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nazareth women's basketball started out strong against Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday night, but ultimately fell short at a score of 80-67.

The first quarter brought a tie for the two teams, each dropping 15 points in the first 10 minutes of game play.
Madalyn Kelly,
Molly Benetti, and
Kiara Anglin combined for Nazareth's first 15 points of the game. In the first quarter, Nazareth shot at an impressive 62.50% from the field, 66.67% from the three and went 3-3 from the free-throw line.

The second quarter was where the Golden Flyers struggled the most, as the second quarter yielded the biggest scoring margin at a 14 point difference in favor of Ohio Wesleyan. This was Nazareth's lowest scoring quarter, dropping to a 28.57 percentage in field goals.
Katie MacLachlan, Anglin, Kelly,
Sarina McDowell, and
Morgan Caraballo scored Nazareth's 13 points in the second quarter.

In the third quarter Nazareth was able to pick themselves back up a little bit, staying mostly even with the Battling Bishops, but they were unable to regain any of the lost points from the second quarter.
Madilann Johnson, Kelly, Benetti, MacLachlan, and
Payton Littlefield combined for Nazareth's 20 points of the quarter.

The final quarter was the Golden Flyers' best in terms of scoring margin, as the Golden Flyers actually outscored the Bishops in the fourth 19-16. Nazareth also had the most points off of turnovers in the final quarter with eight. Benetti, MacLachlan, Anglin, Schuey, Caraballo, and Kelly combined for Nazareth's 19 points of the quarter, as the Golden Flyers together shot 50% from the field, as well as from the three in the final quarter.

Kelly and Benetti led Nazareth's scoring efforts with 13 points, followed closely behind by MacLachlan and Anglin, who each dropped 12. Anglin and Benetti also had seven and six of the team's 33 rebounds, respectively. MacLachlan led the team in assists with four.

Other scorers for Nazareth include Littlefield, who shot 100% with a three and a good lay, Johnson (four), Schuey and Caraballo (three each), and McDowell (two).

The Golden Flyers will take back to the court on Thursday, November 21 at 8 p.m. at RIT for the first game in the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Challenge.
