CLINTON, NY – Graduate student Emily Weaver and senior Lilianna Hanning finish fourth and fifth respectively to lead the Nazareth University Women's Cross Country team to a third place team finish at the Hamilton College Short Course event Saturday morning.
Host Hamilton won the team points competition with 37 points and St. Lawrence (40 points) was second. Nazareth (73) was third followed by St. John Fisher (103), Roberts Wesleyan (140), Houghton (161), William Smith (191) and Utica (210).
Weaver crossed the line in 14:55.5 over the 4K course. Hanning was close behind with a time of 15:01.1 to place fifth overall. Freshman Meghan Moyer was next to finish for Nazareth in 15th place with a time of 15:27.1 and fellow freshman Morgan Pospiech was next in 19th position and a time of 15:29.2. The final scoring runner for the Golden Flyers was freshman Bailey Visingard with a time of 16:09.0 in 34th place.
Additional top finishers for Nazareth were freshmen Kelsey Fahy (16:33.5) in 43rd place and Ava Baker (16:40.5) in 47th position.
The Golden Flyers will compete next weekend at the Harry Anderson Invitational at Roberts Wesleyan.
