ROCHESTER, NY – Senior
Arthur DeVasto set the school record in the high jump on Saturday at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic to highlight the Golden Flyers performances. He had a jump of at 1.86 meters (6 feet, 1 ¼ inches) to take seventh place.
Nazareth's 4 x 100-meter relay of
John Pomykaj,
Benjamin Lewis,
Mike Welch and
Jaylen Savage took fifth place in 43.33.
Pomykaj was a standout in the pole vault, finishing in second place at 4.0 meters (13 feet, 1 ½ inches).
Cade Eells had a nice showing in the steeplechase, winning in 9:38.28, over 10 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
In other distance action, freshman
Connor Jackson was 15
th in the 5,000 in a time of 16:38.50.
Senior
Connor McCauslin and
Aaron Lund earned spots in the 110 hurdle finals, with McCauslin finishing in second place in 15.10 and Lund taking fourth (15.73).
Jaylen Savage had a good showing in his first-ever run in the 100-meter dash, running a wind-aided 11.33 for 13
th place.
Ethan Glashauser ripped off a personal best time of 4:12.63 in the 1500 to place 16
th.
Michael Puglisi was fifth in the 400 in 50.51, while Lewis was 11
th in the 200 (23.26).
Freshman
Holden Thomas was 15
th in the 400 hurdles (1:00.07).
Adam Reifsteck was 16
th in the long jump at 6.32 meters (20 feet, nine inches).
Nazareth returns to action on Friday and Saturday next week for the Empire 8 Championships at Utica.
