FAIRFIELD, CT – Junior Khyree Poole scored three times and fellow junior Jacob Townsand added four scores including three against Fordham to lead the Nazareth Rugby team at the Liberty Rugby Conference (LCR) Championship Tournament at Fairfield University.

Nazareth dropped a tough 12-7 decision in the opening match to Iona as Poole had the lone score for the Golden Flyers.

The team rebounded for a 17-12 win over Harvard as Poole and Townsand each scored along with a try by sophomore Brendan O'Neill.

In the third match of the day, Nazareth dropped another close game with a 17-7 decision to Dartmouth. The Big Green went on to win the championship title. Poole had the try for Nazareth and O'Neill added the conversion.

In the final match of the day, Townsand exploded for three scores as Nazareth beat Fordham 24-7. Freshman Aiden Pavlek added the fourth score for the Golden Flyers and conversions were made by Conrad Hillsheim and Tyshaun Wilson.

Nazareth will host the Golden Flyer 7's Tournament next weekend with Buffalo, Siena, Syracuse, Fredonia and RIT taking part in the event.
