NEW PALTZ, NY – The ninth-ranked Nazareth men's volleyball team dropped to 0-3 in UVC play on Sunday, falling in straight sets to #8 New Paltz 25-20, 25-16, 25-22. Nazareth is now 14-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play. New Paltz moves top 13-5 and 1-0 in conference play.
The Golden Flyers struggled hitting all day, ending the day at just .048 on 83 swings (22 kills, 18 errors).
Nazareth's closest set was in the third. A kill from
Owen Wickens gave Nazareth a 14-13 advantage.The Hawks then broke open a 17-17 game and held onto the lead for the rest of the set.
Wickens led Nazareth with 10 kills on a .222 attack percentage, while also adding six digs.
Trent Caviness had 14 assists, while
Seth Terzo had eight digs.
Colin Donahue added four blocks.
Nazareth will return to Kidera Gymnasium on Wednesday (3/8), hosting Elmira at 7 p.m.
