ITHACA, NY – Senior Ryan Hough broke the 200-yard freestyle school record earning fourth place with a time of 1:43.86 on the second day of the 12th Annual Ithaca College Bomber Invite.
Hough, Cameron Fairley, William Danaher, and junior Adam Delgrand placed 9th (1.28.88) in the 200-yard freestyle relay to start day 2 of the invitational.
Hough advances past teammate Fairley (1:44.09) to claim the top time of the 200-yard freestyle in the record books. Fairley earned 29th place (1:49.41) in the 200-yard freestyle, while fellow teammates Aidan Quinn (1:53.98) and Gianluca Antonini (1:54.70) also had strong finishes.
In the 400 IM, senior Kai D'Alessandro opened his day with a 14th place finish (4:26.20). Freshman Carl Parsons and Delgrand notched 23rd (4:37.23) and 24th place (4:39.43) in the event, respectively. Delgrand also earned 18th place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.52) Saturday evening
Freshman Jackson Gerbes earned a time of 54.69 in the 100-yard butterfly. Junior Danaher followed Gerbes with a time of 54.79 in the same event. Danaher (2:06.44) and Gerbes (2:08.07) also had strong finishes in the 200-yard butterfly event to round out their individual events of the day.
Parsons and Sam Romanosky closed out their individual events of the day with the 100-yard breaststroke where they earned times of 1:02.59 and 1:04.99, respectively.
Hough, Fairley, Parsons, and Delgrand swam the 400-yard medley relay earning a 3:41.88. The relay team earned 7th place in the event. Later in the 800-yard freestyle relay, Fairley, D'Alessandro, Delgrand and Hough placed fifth (7:13.11) in the final relay event of the night to surpass their previous best time of 7:32.78.
Nazareth remains in 9th place totaling 273 points Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Flyers return to the pool for the third and final day of the 12th Annual Ithaca College Bomber Invite at 9 a.m.
