NEWVILLE, PA – Graduate student Emily Weaver, senior Lilianna Hanning and sophomore Ella Impaglia all finished among the top-100 runners for the Nazareth University Women's Cross Country team at the Pre-Nationals meet hosted by Dickinson College.
Weaver finished 54th with a time of 23:03.3 and Hanning was 74th in 23:16.5. Impaglia clocked a personal best over the 6K distance with her time of 23:34.5 and placed 94th overall.
The top-10 teams were Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, MIT, Williams, Amherst, George Fox, Hope, WPI, Vassar, St. Lawrence and John Carroll. Nazareth was 18th overall and the fourth highest finishing team from New York behind Vassar, St. Larence and Rensselaer (15th). The Golden Flyers were four places higher than St. John Fisher and six ahead of Brockport.
Freshman Meghan Moyer was the fourth finisher for Nazareth with a time of 24:06.4 in 139th position followed by freshman Morgan Pospiech (201/ 25:03.1).
Additional finishers for Nazareth included senior Paige Ackley, freshmen Bailey Visingard, Kennedy Doran, Kelsey Fahy, Erika Irwin, Lauren Smith and Emma Wendt.
The Golden Flyers will compete at the Mike Woods Invitational next weekend at Geneseo in final preparation for the Empire 8 Championship meet Oct. 28 at Parkview Fairways in Victor and hosted by Nazareth.
