ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Cameron Fairley won both distance events and swam the lead leg of the winning 200-meter freestyle relay to lead the Nazareth University Men's Swimming and Diving team at the season opening meet against Alfred State.
The Pioneers posted a 139-97 overall victory in the meet.
Fairley led a 1-2-3 finish for Nazareth in both the 800 and 400 freestyle events. He won the 800 in 9:22.89 and took the 400 with a time of 4:29.62. Fellow senior Kai D'Alessandro was second in the 400 and third in the 800 while freshman Gianluca Antonini was second in the 800 and third in the 400 in his first career meet.
Fairley teamed with junior William Danaher, junior Adam DelGrand and senior Ryan Hough to win the 200 free relay to cap the meet.
Hough added wins in the 50 and 100 free with times of 23.89 and 54.61 respectively.
Other top finishers included freshman Jackson Gerbes with a second place finish in the 200 Free, senior Aidan Quinn with a second place finish in the 100 backstroke and freshman Carl Parsons with a second place finish in 100 breaststroke.
The Golden Flyers will swim at Hartwick October 28.
