HANOVER, NH – The Nazareth Rugby team saw scores by a pair of transfers to help the Golden Flyers record 21 points Saturday but a hard battle with Dartmouth ended in a 26-21 loss for Nazareth.

Transfers Mohamed Barry (from NYU) and Tony Robinson (from Iowa Central CC) each scored trys in the game and sophomore Brendan O'Neill kicked three penalty kicks and added a conversion as well for Nazareth in the loss.

O'Neill opened the scoring in the first half after the teams set the tone for the match with several hard hits and movement for each side back and forth up the field.

Robinson added his try and and O'Neill kick gave Nazareth a 10-0 lead.

Dartmouth responded with two trys to take a 14-10 lead and just before halftime, O'Neill kicked another three-pointer to narrow the gap to 14-13 at the halftime intermission.

The teams battled again at the start of the second half before Dartmouth broke free for a try to take a 21-13 lead.

Barry scored a few minutes later but the conversion kick was no good and Nazareth trailed 21-18.

A late try by Dartmouth after a push up the middle of the field extended the lead to 26-18.

Near the end of the match, O'Neill made another kick to close to within five points at 26-21 and a late run by senior Curtis Raeford pushed the ball forward but Dartmouth recovered and kicked for a side out to end the game.

Nazareth returns home October 1 for the 2022 home opener against American International with a 1:30 p.m. match on the Upper Field.
