ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Freshman Benjamin Lewis finished third in the 200-meter dash Friday as Nazareth continued its track and field season with competition at the University of Rochester Spring Classic.

No team scoring was compiled, but Lewis was among Nazareth's top performers with a time of :23.08 seconds. Among the other top performers were Noah Engel, who finished sixth in the 400-meter dash (:53.63); Mike Welch, who finished eighth in the 400 hurdles (1:00.28); Patrick Healy, who was 13th in the 800-meter run (2:02.43); Lucas Sharron, who was 14th in the 800 (2:02.74) and Christopher Perez, who was 16th in the hammer throw (37.14 meters / 121 feet, 10 inches).

In the women's pole vault, grad student Anna Ahlquist broke the school record for the second week in a row as she cleared 3.52 meters (11 feet, 6 1/2 inches) to finish in second place. She also finished second at last week's Geneseo Invitational by vaulting 3.50 meters (11 feet, 5 3/4 inches).

Abbey Szumloz also ran well for Nazareth as she placed first in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.73, a couple of ticks shy of her personal-best time of 1:06.47. She also finished fifth in the 100 hurdles in :16.50 seconds. She was followed by freshman MacKenzie Gilligan in sixth place (:16.76).
