GENESEO, N.Y. -- Nazareth gathered a handful of track and field competitors Monday to compete at an impromptu meet at Geneseo. Athletes from RIT, St. John Fisher and Geneseo also competed and Nazareth had a few top performances.
Junior
Connor McCauslin finished first in the 110-meter hurdles with a winning time of :15.39. He also ran on the 4 x 100-meter relay that posted a time of :44.58 with
Benjamin Lewis,
Mike Welch and
Joey Nettles also running.
Lewis also returned to post a personal-best time of :22.64 to place second in the 200-meter dash. He was followed by Welch (:23.15) in third place, McCauslin (:23.75) in sixth and
Mamourou Kone (:24.77) in ninth place.
Other competitors included
Matthew Johnson with a fifth-place time of :51.57 in the 400-meter dash and
Kyle Reid and
Arthur DeVasto, who finished fifth and seven respectively in the high jump with heights of 1.73 and 1.68 meters.
In the women's meet, Brenna Johnson picked where she left off over the weekend by winning the long jump with a leap of 5.64 meters (18 feet, 6 inches). She also finished fourth in the 100-meter dash (:12.71) and ran on the 4 x 100-meter (:51.14) along with Riley Norris, Hannah Ragule and Abbey Szumloz.
Szumloz also finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (:15.98) and sixth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:11.03). Lauren Bendall trailed Szumloz in the 400 with a seventh-place finish (1:12.79). Ragule had a fourth-place finish in the triple jump at 10.86 meters (35 feet, 7 3/4 inches). McKenzie Leahey was sixth at 10.06 meters (33 feet, 0 1/4 inch).
