Then with the score tied at 23-23, Sargent bounced a kill from the outside to give Nazareth a one-point lead. Vassar refocused and tallied the last three points on a Nazareth service error, a kill and a block to take the set 26-24 for a commanding two-set lead.

The third set also was close, but Nazareth prevailed with kills from Wickens and Weaver on the final two points of the set. Vassar then dominated the fourth set to win the match as van Beveren and Payne Lounsbery each had four kills.
