ITHACA, NY – Nazareth's 800-yard freestyle relay of
Kai D'Alessandro,
William Danaher,
Cameron Fairley, and
Ryan Hough highlighted the Saturday action for the Golden Flyers at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational with a fourth-place finish in 7:12.64. With one more day to go on Sunday, Nazareth is in ninth place (327.5 points) out of nine teams.
The Golden Flyers showed out in the 200-yard freestyle, with Fairley clocking a 1:44.85 and Hough a 1:44.94 to earn big points for the men's squad in fourth and fifth place.
In the morning session, the quartet of Fairley, Danaher, Hough, and
Adam DelGrand were able to muster a seventh-place finish in 3:42.51.
D'Alessandro turned in the top individual performance of the day with a 10
th place finish in the 400-yard IM in 4:25.53. He saved his best lap for last, clocking a 28.12.
DelGrand swam nearly two seconds better than his seed time in the 100-yard butterfly, tying for 24
th place with a 54.58, while Danaher was close behind (54.71) for 27
th place. The duo flip-flopped in the evening session for the 200-yard butterfly as Danaher took 14
th (2:05.73) and DelGrand (2:07.62) was 17
th.
Nazareth will close out the Bomber Invitational on Sunday.
