OBERLIN, OH – Senior Nathan Bowers, junior Matt Reimann and sophomore Cade Eells all finished among the top 50 runners as the Nazareth Men's Cross Country team placed ninth overall out of 32 teams at the annual Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College.
Bowers was the top Nazareth finisher as the senior ran to a 13th place finish with a time of 25:34.5 over the 8K course. Reimann was next for the Golden Flyers with a time of 25:57.2 and a 33rd place finish. Eells was also in the top-50 for Nazareth with a 44th place finish with a time of 26:11.2.
Carnegie Mellon won the men's race with 40 points and Case Western was second with 50 points. University of Rochester (124 points) was third followed by John Carroll (177), Wisconsin-Stevens Point (211), Trine (220), Ohio Northern (238), Centre (243) and Nazareth (271 points). Dennison (350) rounded out the top 10 teams.
Sophomore Ethan Kenyon placed 104th with a time of 26:58.6 and senior Nathan McNally was right behind him in 105th position with a time of 26:58.7.
Other finishers for the Golden Flyers included freshman Joey Everts (27:12.7), freshman Antonio Benitez (27:19.6), freshman Connor Jackson (27:41.2), junior Kenny Williams (27:53.3) and junior Ethan Glashauser (28:15.5).
The Golden Flyers also had runners compete in the open division race as senior Lucas Sharron clocked a 27:49.3, freshman Cameron Almy ran 28:51.2, freshman Aiden Meyer finished in 30:19.5 and freshman Joseph Cataldo had a time of 31:59.0.
Next up for Nazareth Cross Country will be the Empire 8 Championship October 29th at Houghton.
