GENESEO, NY – For the second time this season, senior Amanda Chuttey set a career high in saves as she turned away 22 shots in a 1-0 losing effort for the Nazareth College Field Hockey team in a non-conference game at Geneseo.
Chuttey made the first save of the game 3:05 into the contest but Geneseo (4-4) reloaded and fired a shot past the Nazareth (2-4) goalie for an early 1-0 lead.
The Nazareth defense led by Chuttey and freshman Madison Chodkowski who recorded a pair of defensive saves, kept the Knights scoreless the remainder of the game. Chuttey made 21 saves over the stretch. Her previous career high for saves was 21 against Rochester to start the season.
The Golden Flyers had just one shot that came from the stick of junior Bailey Selman as Geneseo held a commanding 35-1 edge in shots and a 25-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Nazareth returns to Empire 8 action Saturday at home against Keuka with a 12 p.m. start time.
