KEUKA PARK, N.Y. -- Nazareth ran its men's soccer winning streak to five games Saturday as the visiting Golden F;lyers scored once in each half of a 2-0 victory over Keuka.
Nazareth improved to 2-0 in Empire 8 Conference action and 6-1-1 overall. Keuka is 2-6-1 and 0-1-1. Nazareth has recorded four shutouts in its last five games and has outscored its opponents 22-2 during the winning streak.
On Saturday, freshman
Jake Pawlika produced his team-leading seventh goal in the 15th minute as he one-touched a crossing pass from
Drew Decker into the back of the Keuka net.
Nazareth added its second goal early in the second half after a free kick from the midfield line by
Andrew Vogler was redirected into the goal by
Colin Brickwood, who gained credit for his third goal of the season.
Nazareth had advantages in shots (12-5) and corner kicks (10-2) to dominate the Wolves.
Logan Menna gained his third shutout of the season with three saves.
Nazareth travels to Fredonia Tuesday for a non-conference game at 7 p.m.
