BROCKPORT, NY – Freshman Tessa Grover had seven kills and senior Olivia Quick added six kills for the Nazareth College Women's Volleyball team but the Golden Flyers lost a 3-0 decision to Ithaca College on the first day of the Brockport Invitational.
Ithaca (2-4) won in three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-8.
Grover had an attack percentage of .227 and Quick was a .417 percentage to lead the offense. Grover added 13 assists, six digs and a pair of blocks. Freshman Zoe Tylipakis had nine assists and three digs while senior McKenzie Hart led the defense with 10 digs.
Ithaca used strong starts to take leads in all three sets. The Bombers led 9-5 to start the first set, 8-3 to begin the second set and took a commanding 12-3 lead in the final set.
Nazareth will face Thiel at 11 a.m. and host SUNY Brockport at 3:30 p.m. Sunday on the second day of the tournament.
