ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Visiting Daemen outscored Nazareth 15-6 in the fifth and deciding set Saturday as the Wildcats prevailed in a non-conference men's volleyball match at the Kidera Gymnasium. Scores were 25-20, 25-13, 23-25, 23-25, 15-6.

Daemen, a three-year-old program that competes at the Division II level, improved to 7-0 overall, while the Golden Flyers, ranked 15th nationally in Division III, slipped to 2-2 with their second defeat of the week.

Senior Antonio Sargent had 17 kills for the Golden Flyers and freshman Owen Wickens combined 12 kills with 20 assists and six digs. Daemen, however, jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the fifth set and the Golden Flyers couldn't recover. Daemen's Robert Patzer had three of his 11 kills in the set and Zach Schneider and Ryan Parker each added two kills.

Nazareth put forth a resilient effort after dropping the first two sets. Sargent had four kills each in sets three and four as the Golden Flyers staged a comeback. Nazareth trailed 21-20 in the third set, but came back behind kills by Nate Allen and Sargent before Wickens closed out the set with a service ace.
