KEUKA PARK, NY – Junior Jadyn Abrams scored 18 points while classmates Miyah Sizer added 11 points and Kim Davis 10 points to lead the Nazareth College Women's Basketball team to a convincing 87-53 victory over Keuka Saturday afternoon in an Empire 8 (E8) road contest.
Nazareth (3-2 overall, 2-1 E8) dominated early building a 23-8 advantage in the first 10 minutes of action. After a closer second quarter that the Golden Flyers outscored Keuka (0-4, 0-4 E8) 19-16 the Golden Flyers held a comfortable 42-24 lead at the break.
In the third quarter, Nazareth continued to pull away with a 30-13 edge in the period and a 72-37 lead after three quarters. Nazareth closed out the game with 15 points down the stretch in the final quarter.
Abrams was 7-fo-r11 from the field including 2-for-3 from 3-point range and Sizer was a hot 4-for-5 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Both freshman Chelsea Woodsum and junior Caley Cornwell scored nine points and led Nazareth with nine rebounds each. Junior Sarah Simmons also scored nine points for the Golden Flyers.
Nazareth shot 52.3 percent (34-for-65) from the field for the game including 13-for-24 from 3-point range.
The Golden Flyers will play at St. John Fisher Tuesday night and host Russell Sage Friday before playing at Russell Sage Sunday afternoon.
