ALFRED, N.Y. -- Freshman
Cameron Fairley won two individual events and swam on the winning 200 medley relay Saturday as Nazareth breezed to a 195-98 dual-meet victory over host Alfred in men's swimming and diving.
Fellow freshman
Kai D'Alessandro also won two individual events and placed second in another as Nazareth won 14 of the 16 events overall.
Fairley captured the 200- and 500-yard freestyles with times of 1:49.87 and 5:02.20 respectively. He was joined in the 200 medley relay by
John Koch,
Marco Salvatore and
Sean Payrot for a winning time of 1:40.83.
D'Alessandro won the 1,000 free (10:31.77) and the 200 backstroke (2:08.42). He finished second in the 100 backstroke (:59.84),
Koch was part of four winning events. In addition to the 200 medley relay, he finished first in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.32) and the 200 breaststroke (2:16.79). He also was part of the 200 free relay (1:29.40) that included
Ryan Hough, Payrot and Joey Knapp.
Sidney Taylor was a winner in both diving events, scoring 277.90 in the 1-meter event and 290.85 in the 3-meter. Other winners were
Dylan Long in the 200 butterfly (2:11.96), Payrot in the 50 free (:22.43), Hough in the 100 free (:49.18) and Salvatore in the 200 IM (2:05.34).
