WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Freshman Zoe Tylipakis had a career-best 14 kills against Lycoming and a career-high 10 digs against Alfred State and the Nazareth College Women's Volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday on the final day of the Lycoming College Tournament.
Nazareth (8-7) dropped a 3-0 decision to Alfred State (11-1) by set scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-17 but rebounded to beat Lycoming (8-12) in three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-21 and 25-16.
Tylipakis led the Golden Flyers offense in the win over Lycoming with 14 kills and also had nine digs for the defense. In the Alfred State match, the freshman had a career-best 10 digs.
Junior Kaylee Kelly finished with 11 kills and seven digs against Lycoming and another eight kills in the loss to the Pioneers. Freshman Tessa Grover had 26 assists against Lycoming along with three blocks and five digs. Senior McKenzie Hart added three aces and eight digs and fellow senior Olivia Quick had four aces and six digs.
Freshman Ella Kules had four aces and five digs while sophomore Catie Spegar recorded nine digs.
Against Alfred State, Hart led the defense with 13 digs and also contributed three aces. Kelly added eight kills to her weekend totals.
Nazareth travels to Alfred Tuesday night and will host Elmira Thursday night in Empire 8 action and play in the RIT Invitational over the weekend.
