ROCHESTER, NY – Senior McKenzie Hart had 33 digs over two matches and junior Eva Lyko added 14 kills in the second match as the Nazareth College Women's Volleyball split a pair of matches at the RIT Invitational Tournament Saturday.
Nazareth (11-8) dropped a 3-0 decision to RT by scores of 25-15, 25-9 and 25-16 but rebounded to defeat Medaille College in three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-16 and 25-15.
In the RIT match, junior Kaylee Kelly led the Golden Flyers with seven kills, freshman Tessa Grover had 14 assists and Hart added 13 digs.
Against Medaille, Lyko converted 14 kills with just two errors on 35 attacks for a .343 percentage to lead the offense. Grover added 20 assists and freshman Madelyn Seeley had four of Nazareth's 11 service aces. Hart led the defense with 20 digs and freshman Alexandra Eder chipped in three blocks.
Nazareth returns to Empire 8 play with home matches against St. John Fisher at 7 p.m. Tuesday night and a 7 p.m. match against Utica Friday before traveling to Houghton for a 1 p.m. match Saturday.
