UTICA, N.Y. -- Utica's Madeline Krecidlo scored four goals Sunday to lift the Pioneers to a 5-1 field hockey victory over Nazareth in Empire 8 Conference action at Gaetano Stadium.
The defeat was the fourth in a row for the Golden Flyers, who dropped to 3-8 overall and 2-2 in Empire 8 games. Utica improved to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in conference action.
Utica had a 25-6 edge in shots and had 12 penalty corners to Nazareth's six. The Pioneers scored three times in the first half, including two goals by Krecidlo, who added two more goals in the fourth quarter.

Lydia Coombs, who was credited with her first career tally.
Caroline Desautels assisted.
Bailey Selman accounted for four of the Golden Flyers' six shots with Coombs generating the other two.
Amanda Chuttey played all 60 minutes in goal and had 13 saves.
Nazareth's next game is Tuesday at Oswego at 6 p.m.
