KEUKA PARK, NY – Freshmen Caroline Desautels and Bailey Selman each scored goals in the first five minutes of the game and senior Jennifer Hilts added her fourth goal of the season to lead the Nazareth College field hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Keuka in its first road game of the season.
Desautles scored her fourth goal of the year just 1:46 into the contest as Hilts sent a pass to the front of the goal for the freshman to finish the play.
Less than three minutes later, Nazareth (2-1) converted a goal off a penalty corner as Selman finished the play with a long shot and an assist from junior Natalie L'Hommedieu for a 2-0 Nazareth lead.
Hilts made it a 3-0 game at the 7:59 mark as she took a pass from fellow senior Alexandra Livesey and scored to give the Golden Flyers a commanding lead.
Nazareth hels a 6-3 edge in shots in the first half but Keuka (0-5) battled in the second half and held a 10-5 edge in shots but could not get a shot past goalie Amanda Chuttey. The sophomore finished with 10 saves.
Field Hockey returns home for a midweek game against Brockport at 7 pm Wednesday.
