PENN YAN, N.Y. -- Nazareth opened the spring portion of its men's golf season Wednesday as four golfers competed at the Keuka Spring Invitational at Lakeside Country Club.

Competing for the first time for the Golden Flyers, Jake Adams was one of three Nazareth players to shoot 85 to finish in a tie for 22nd place. Freshmen Jake Costa and Bryce Dorough also had 85s. Graduate student Jeff Gurbacki also competed with a score of 88.

The Golden Flyers finished eighth in the team standings with a score of 343. Utica finished atop the standings in the 11-team field with a score of 316. Penn College was a distant second with a score of 330. Cobleskill was third with 335.

Nazareth competes again this weekend at Hershey Country Club for rounds three and four of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament. The first two rounds were contested in September at Timber Banks in Baldwinsville. The Golden Flyers enter the weekend in fourth place in the eight-team field.
