PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's and women's golf teams closed out their first-semester schedules over the weekend as the Golden Flyers hosted their own invitational at Monroe Golf Club and Irondequoit Country Club.
Nazareth's men's team finished eighth in the eight-team field with team scores of 384 (Saturday at Monroe) and 381 (Sunday at Irondequoit). Allegheny finished first in the team standings with scores of 295 and 307 for a 602 total. University of Rochester was four shots back at 606. St. Lawrence (617), Clarkson (623), Oswego (658), Hobart (665) and Keuka (741) also competed.
Sophomore
Jake Costa led the Golden Flyers by moving up 13 places to finish in 20th place individually. His score of 75 included four birdies.
Vincent Leblond placed 26th after scores of 83 and 82 for a 165 total.
Stephen Gabel (88-95 -- 183) and
Seth Terzo (127-129 - 256) also competed.
Rochester's Ryan Dougherty was the top individual finisher with scores of 68 and 76 for a 144 total, five shots better than Allegheny's tandem of Tyler Pham (149) and Matthew Del Rosso (149).
In the women's tournament, Nazareth finished second among three teams with team scores of 372 (Saturday at Monroe) and 378 (Sunday at Irondequoit) for a 750 total. Allegheny took team honors with scores of 359 and 351 for a 710 total. St. Lawrence was third with scores of 469 and 467 for a 936 total.
Freshman Danielle Caringi had three birdies Sunday at Irondequoit on her way to a score of 85 to lead the Golden Flyers. She finished fourth in the individual standings with a 178 total after firing a 93 Saturday. Freshman Holly Ebert finished in eighth place after scores of 86 nd 97 for a 185 total. Deanna Tinch was next in ninth place after rounds of 91 and 95 for a 186 total.
Olivia Minor (100-101 -- 201) and Makenzie Robbins (141-142 -- 283) also competed. Allegheny's Camille O'Halloran was the top individual finisher with scores of 86 and 82 for a 168 total.
