ROCHESTER, NY – Mikaila Rubin, Taylor Hudon and Gabriella DeMeo each scored goals as the Nazareth College women's hockey team dominated offensively and played solid defense in a 3-0 victory over Lebanon Valley Friday night in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) contest at the Bill Gray's Iceplex.

The Golden Flyers (13-3-1 overall, 9-3 UCHC) fired 57 shots on goal in the game while allowing Lebanon Valley to take just eight shots which goalie Adrianna Brehm stopped all of to record her 10th victory and fifth shutout of the season.

Dutchmen goalie Jill Moffat made 54 saves but was tagged with her 13th loss of the season.

Rubin opened the scoring just 1:14 into the contest as she took a pass from Hailey Redders and fired the first shot of the game past the Lebanon Valley goalie for the early Nazareth lead.

The second period was all Nazareth as the Golden Flyers took 27 shots and found the back of the net twice as Hudon and DeMeo each scored unassisted goals. Hudon scored 41 seconds into the period and DeMeo fired a shot from inside the blue line at the 7:18 mark for the 3-0 lead.

The Golden Flyers continued to press in the third period but were hampered by three penalties.

The eight shots allowed was the lowest of the season as Nazareth allowed just nine shots in the second game of the season against Anna Maria in a 9-0 win.

The same two teams will meet again at 2 p.m. Saturday to complete the weekend series at Bill Gray's Iceplex.
