BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's golf team finished in fourth place following the first two rounds of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament for men's golf at Timber Banks Country Club.

The Golden Flyers posted team scores of 321 and 307 to finish with a 628 total, seven shots behind third-place Utica (312--309--621). Oswego (302-295--597) leads the tournament by one stroke over St. John Fisher (300-298--598). The final two rounds will be contested April 13-14 at Hershey Country Club. The team champion gains an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Stevens (643), Elmira (693), Potsdam (708) ans Sage (715) also competed.

Freshman Jake Costa continued his solid play for the Golden Flyers by placing fourth individually with rounds of 78 and even-par 72 for a 150 total. Junior Andrew Fleischman improved by five strokes on Sunday with a 75 after shooting 80 on Saturday for a 155 total, good for 11th place. Junior Ian Brotherton had scores of 79 and 81 for a 160 total and 16th place.

Oterh Nazareth competitors were grad student Jeff Gurbacki in 20th place (84-79--163); senior Dominic Cicchetti in 32nd place (92-81--173) and freshman Bryce Dorough in 32nd place (88-85--173).
