ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's and women's golf teams closed out their fall seasons over the weekend as the Golden Flyers hosted their own invitational at Monroe Golf Club (Saturday) and Irondequoit Country Club (Sunday).
Nazareth's men's team finished in fourth place in the four-team event with scores of 328 and 343 for a 671 total. Oswego won the event with rounds of 313 and 311 for a 624 stroke total. That was nine strokes better than runner-up St. Lawrence (319-314 -- 633). Hobart (327-330 -- 657) also competed.
Freshman
Bryce Dorough saved his best performances for the end of the fall season as he posted rounds of 79 and 75 for a 154 total, good for a tie for third place individually.
Junior
Ian Brotherton finished 17th with a 165 total after rounds of 78 and 87. He was followed by freshanJeff Costa in 18th place with rounds of 79 and 88 for a 167 total.
Other Nazareth competitors were graduate student
Jeff Gurbacki (84-83 -- 167); senior
Dominic Cicchetti (87-85 -- 172); junior
Jordan Holley (90-86 -- 176); and freshman Nolan Johnson (98-98 -- 196).
In the women's tournament, just three teams competed -- Nazareth, St. Lawrence and St. John Fisher. An injury to Nazareth freshman Keelin Paquette left. the Golden Flyers with just three competitors. Sophomore Deanna Tinch finished in a tie for third place individually with scores of 94 and 94 for a 187 total.
Sophomore Sara McCall had rounds of 98 and 95 for a 19 total and junior Olivia Dowdle went 105 and 104 for a 209 total. Fisher's Emily Schultz was the individual champion with scores of 88 and 91 for a 179 total.
